Advanced Imaging

Veterinary Neurology and Imaging of the Chesapeake offers a 1.5T MRI facility equipped with top notch, MRI-compatible anesthesia machines, a ventilator, monitoring equipment (ECG, ETCO2, SPO2, and blood pressure) and is located in the Annapolis office. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, magnetic field gradients, and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body.

CVRC offers Computed Tomography (CT) at all our specialty hospitals. CT is diagnostic imaging test used to create detailed images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue and blood vessels. The machine produces computer-processed combinations of many X-ray measurements taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional images of specific areas of a scanned object, allowing the user to see inside the object without cutting. CT is a useful tool in further evaluating the following conditions: trauma, lung disorders, soft tissue abnormalities, nasal and ear disease, orthopedic disease and neurological disease.
